This quilt is a Lone Star pattern made around the 1930s-1940s with old feed sack fabrics. This particular quilt was sewn by a woman named Sara Wiles, who lived from 1886 - 1977. Sara made this quilt in the early 1900s while trying to support three children. She worked as a seamstress and a milliner, and many of her quilts came from a selection of fabric came from scrapes of men's and women's altered clothing in the early 1900s.
This piece was crafted by hand not once but twice and does have minor imperfections due to the age of the fabric. This is a light weight coat.
Please note that we do not accept returns, and these are one size that fits most. Every square inch of our quilts is utilized, so if you are naturally petite, the jacket can be deconstructed and tailored to your height.
